Lapbooking is a way to document information using mini-books mounted into a folder. It was started by Tobin's Lab (copy righted by them) and is spreading through scrapbooking and homeschooling communities. I will add links at a later date.
This is the lapbook I made to show lots of example mini-books. Currently this is a simple one folder book with no added flaps. I will do this if I learn more folds than this folder will hold.
Front
Lapbook folding instruction on the front cover with how to add additional flaps or sections.
This was a previously used folder and plain multi purpose paper for the mini-books and such. The were all glued in with school glue, some books were stapled together though a few should use brads so they turn and such. The majority of these mini-books or styles were printed or copied from notebookingpages.com (see links). Most of these were also done in a smaller size than you may actually use as they are just examples of the styles.
The list of mini books are:
(inside left flap)
- double Q/A flip - good for vocabulary (could be single sided)
- fan book (should be used with a brad)
- single page folded book
(center - left to right, top to bottom)
- single quilt square
- tabbed booklet
- acordian book
- Multi-layer flap book
- quilt square mounted
- tri-fold booklet
- matchbook fold
- Q/A flap fold placed horizontal
- pocket (instructions)
(right inside flap)
- shaped tri-fold
- shape book
- turnable pie with window
- layered look book
- circle book
Hope this helps someone :D
