Watched the lunar eclipse this morning with DS2. He thought it was pretty neat. We are working on a heraldry Lapbook and will start lapbooks on labor day and manners this week finally. Still working on getting our new set up ready. It is so hot that no one wants to really do anything.
Today was kinda a day off as DS1 had to mow the yard in the heat and we are washing our new to us van. I can't wait til it gets a bit cooler!

Not as consistent as I want to be with this log. Oh well. Added some pictures of our 4th of July Lapbooks. We did complete the All about me books but I need to take pictures. Starting like 3 lapbooks this week as well as other work. We are also trying to get our new "school room" organized and put together. Cleaning out the toys and other stuff is the hard part.
Very HOT this week. The heat is making a lot of work be put aside. Think I need to uncover and use the A/C in our one room. I don't do heat well and the baby just wants to be help making us all the hotter. If we turn on the A/C for several hours in the afternoon, maybe we can get some stuff done.

I found an interesting site last night. It was about making an "office" lapbook for all the little learning helpers. I think this along with the "All About Me" Lapbook will be our first projects. Now to start Printing...

We have learned a new way to work with our unit studies. It is called Lap-booking and Note-booking. You can link to my page about our lap-books in the links to the left. Note-booking is similar but using "grownup versions" of the mini books in a notebook. I'll get links up for all that soon. Right now I have a focus on learning how to do some lap-books correctly so the kids enjoy them. We have completed one lap-book, and will start another tomorrow. I will try to get pictures of what we did posted soon.
